Dundas Square has been a focal point inToronto for almost 10 years now. After much debate, a proposal has been submitted to the City of Toronto to bring a new 39-storey condominium to the area.
On March 10th ‘HNR Properties’ submitted a development application to the city to re-develop 19 and 21 Dundas Square. The Site currently is “The HNR Tower,” a 21-storey commercial and office building built in 1930. The Hermant Building at 19 Dundas Square is a 9 storey commercial building that also sits on the property.
The application will see a new 39-storey tower with 254 condominium units. Commercial office space would occupy floors 1-16. The application also includes demolition of 258 Victoria (a heritage building) and its 2-storey neighbor at 252 Victoria. The Hermant Building and ‘HNR Tower’ would be incorporated into the design.
Diamond + Schmitt Architects, Page + Steele and ERA Architects have all been brought on board to consult with “HNR Properties” on the proposal.
