Two New Towers Headed to Yorkville?

Months ago, the team at Camrost Felcorp released Yorkville Plaza, its newest condominium in the downtown core and their second retrofit project in less than a year. Late in 2010, Camrost introduced the Imperial Plaza Condos, another interesting project that took the Imperial Oil building and transformed it into a new condominium residence.

Up to this point, Yorkville Plaza is selling well and the market continues to move forward at a record pace — time to start the process for what may be a second phase at Yorkville Plaza. Today, an application on the City of Toronto’s website gave us a sneak peek at what could be Camrost’s long-term vision for the site.

The application states that two new towers are planned for the site. The first, rising to 39 storeys, and the second reaching a more intimate 10 storeys. The two new towers will consist of 883 residential units, and bring in two storeys of retail and commercial space at ground level. There will also be 278 parking spots in a five-storey underground parking garage. Although no details are available at the moment, one should expect some very high-end features and finishes, given what Yorkville Plaza offered at the time of its launch.

Camrost Felcorp continues to be one of the most active builders in Toronto. From their recently released Yorkville Plaza and re-release of Sunset Condominiums, to the beautiful designs at Imperial Plaza, the guys over at Camrost have been hitting some home runs lately. Will we see another one at Yorkville Plaza 2? Don’t bet against it, given the history of Camrost Felcorp.
