Fenton and Reserve make a statement at St. Clair and Bathurst
Reserve Properties have been very, very busy over the past year. When we originally sat down with vice-presidenton Shane Fenton a year ago, he was set to launch Motif Condos and Towns, a beautiful infill project at Queen and Ossington. He had high hopes for it, but at the time, could not have imagined the success it would enjoy.12 months and two more successful launches later, Fenton has raised the stakes with Rise at St. Clair and Bathurst, his next project.
‘It’s a perfect fit for Reserve,” said Fenton at a recent reception at the sales centre. “My family has been doing this for a number of years, and offers some excellent industry experience. We are really excited to see Rise come to life.” Rise will be a new statement for Reserve Properties. Their previous projects, Motif Lofts and Towns, Lakehouse Beach Residences and Bellefair Kew Beach Residences were all successful developments. “It’s been a great progression for us. The past projects gave us an opportunity to really work with end users and learn what they like, what they are looking for, and we were able to take those lessons and apply them to Rise.”
Fenton’s hands-on approach fits well at Reserve, a family-owned company with more than 30 years’ experience. “One of the great things about us is that we are a smaller company, so I am involved in all aspects of the development. From the sales to the design and the construction, I’m heavily involved in all aspects of the project, which is a huge advantage. Sometimes you have larger development companies that have their different divisions and there can be a bit of a disconnect. However, because I’m involved in every aspect of the building, it brings it all together for me, which is a positive for our company, but more so to the end users of the building”
As a Toronto native and frequenter of the area, Fenton is an authority on Forest Hill. He says Rise is a game changer. “I think Rise is really going to change the face of Bathurst and St. Clair. It’s going to bring it up in a way that no one really could have ever imagined. From the contemporary style to the type of people it will attract to the area.” “We just recently finished the sales centre, and the public as well as the neighbours are excited about what’s going on.”
Designed by Graziani + Corazza Architects, Rise will offer a contemporary look including an outdoor terrace featuring private cabanas, an outdoor dining area and an infinity pool that will overlook the city. “In terms of the amenities, the features and finishes that we went with, we think that we have really gone above and beyond. We feel that we have a perfectly designed project that will cater to everyone.”
Suites ranging from studios to 2 bedrooms will feature interiors designed by II By IV Design Associates. Some of the high-end finishes include 9-foot ceilings, pre-finished hardwood and custom designed European cabinetry, as well as stainless steel appliances and stone countertops. Despite the fact that he has yet to hit the market with Rise, the always ambitious Fenton has an eye to the future. “You’re going to see a lot more of these types of projects unveiling every quarter at Reserve.”
Aptly named Rise, the condominium speaks to both the building rising above St. Clair and Bathurst and Reserve’s steady climb to the top of the Toronto new development scene “There really is a strong connection between the name of the project and our company,” Fenton says. “The building will rise to the top of the corner, overlooking all of Toronto, and Reserve is rising as a company. We are elevating ourselves to a new level.”
