New Views of 154 Front St. East
Last week, we presented a blog entry featuring Rob Cadeau’s views on what is to become of 154 Front St.  We enjoyed learning more about Cityzen Developments’ long term vision for the site. Today, we stumbled upon the development’s newest renderings, which display some very cool and interesting architecture.
For those unaware, last year, Cityzen Developments purchased 154 Front St. East from Build Toronto.  It was the first property sold by the City to a private developer. From there, Cityzen has been consulting with the City and local residents to find the perfect project for the community, one that will fit in, yet push the limits of conventional architecture.

Have a peek for yourself!

The plans for 154 Front St. East are impressive. Cityzen is planning on bringing two towers, reaching 24 and 34 storeys. Unlike the previous proposal, the towers will now be connected by a common bridge, very similar to the designs for Pier 27, another project by Cityzen and architectsAlliance.  Cityzen is still meeting with local residents and interested parties to get their take on the project. We are certain that Cityzen will come up with an innovative design to present to everyone.

The site is a former Greyhound Courier Express, is currently being used as a parking lot, and is another prime example of a developer recognizing the potential of an under-used pocket of the city.  The skill of picking out these sites plays a significant role in the city’s much-needed residential expansion.

Keep an eye on the Toronto Star’s NewInHomes.com, we will have more information on this development as it becomes available.
