Whenever we post about a really cool looking tower design, they’re always planned for somewhere like South Korea, Dubai, or some other far away land. This time, the project is a little closer to home. We’re talking about Le Peterson by the Benvenuto Group, a brand new contemporary tower in Montreal.
Is that a rock-climbing wall on the balcony? Yup.
Designed by Bruno St-Jean, Le Peterson will stand 31 storeys, and be unlike anything Montreal has ever seen. The waving balconies of Le Peterson aren’t exactly new to Toronto; we have Massey Tower by MOD Developments going up soon, and Market Wharf by Context, but nothing as dramatic as Le Peterson. There’s always the Absolute Towers by Cityzen, but what Le Peterson does that Absolute doesn’t is combine the contemporary curves with the hard modern edges. The effect of this rare combination is the sense that Le Peterson is in constant movement, flowing with the vibe of downtown Montreal.

We recently sat down with Mitchell Abrahams of the Benvenuto Group to talk about his Montreal projects, and when asked about Le Peterson’s neighbourhood, he said, “To me, it’s located in one of most dynamic neighbourhoods in Montreal. It’s in the heart of the festivals. It really is where the city’s business centre meets the downtown core. It’s a five minute walk to Old Montreal, and a five-minute walk to St. Lawrence. The area really gets a wide cross section of people looking to live downtown, and it really attracts the type of buyers who love downtown Montreal.”

The suites at Le Peterson, which were designed by Bryon Patton, are separated into two sections of the tower: Plans Des Lofts (located in the podium) and the Skyline Tower Suites. The loft suites were released in July, and the Benvenuto Group sold over 75% on opening day!
With the success of the Plans Des Lofts, the Benvenuto Group (and everyone else) is very excited about the Grand Opening of the Skyline Tower Suites, which is scheduled for September 29th.

Construction on Le Peterson will commence in the Spring of 2013, with completion scheduled for 2015. Prices are starting at $214,900.
