Look out Los Angeles, Gordon Ramsay, famed chef and terrifying television personality, has a new city to call home. Reports say Ramsay has purchased a luxurious mansion in the gated Bel Air Crest neighbourhood for $6.75 million.

The 7,413-square-foot estate is set on an expansive one-acre lot. The home is comprised of five bedrooms, six bathrooms, and very spacious living areas. The flashy features are the same as what we have found in most Los Angeles mansions: a huge infinity pool and hot tub, a lavish ensuite off the master bedroom, at least three fireplaces, and a wide-open lounge space in the backyard. Oh, and a high-end luxury kitchen, obviously. There are also many patio doors that can be left open to supply extravagant views of the canyon, ocean, and city.

The home was built in 2003 and designed by infamous architect, Ken Ungar, who has been designing homes for celebrities in Los Angeles for the past 20 years. He has won many awards for his designs, including one for Best Home Under 6,000 Square Feet. You can see one of his designs featured as Jeff and Susie’s home on the hit television series Curb Your Enthusiasm, during the 2008 and 2009 seasons.

Anyway, it makes perfect sense that Ramsay has purchased a place to settle in the United States, since his hit show, MasterChef, which is filmed in Los Angeles, has skyrocketed in the ratings department and is about to start its third season. Ramsay also has a new realty show in the works, called “Hotel Hell,” which is being filmed in the Cambridge Hotel in New York – not exactly a neighbor to L.A., but in the same country at least.

To all those currently residing in the Bel Air Crest community, if you’re suddenly drawn unwillingly out of your home by the smell of delicious food, or start hearing a significant amount of expletives flying through the air, don’t worry — it’s just Gordon Ramsay.
