The Daniels Corporation will build a new low-rise, boutique style condominium at 1848 Bloor St. W., in Toronto’s High Park neighbourhood.
The current plan will see a mixed-use boutique style building, with ground floor retail stores.
The condo will rise 14-storeys high, with two rear towers stepping down to Bloor St. The development itself contains 346 condominium units, with 46 bachelor suites, 100 one bedroom suites, 113 one bedroom plus den suites plus more. The development will also have walk up townhome units, located on Oakmount Road and Pacific Avenue. An amenity space will be located on the third and ninth floors respectively.
Currently, the site is home to 13 two and three-storey homes, which have been abandoned for years. The decision to demolish these homes currently lies with the Ontario Municipal Board. With that in mind, Daniels is planning on adding replacement rental units as part of the redevelopment plan.
One of the most appealing factors regarding this development is its close proximity to High Park. The views to the south looking over High Park may be some of the best in Toronto. They are within walking distance of both the Keele and High Park subway stations, including the Bloor Go station.
On April 19th, the proposal was submitted to the Design Review Panel. It was commented that the project would be a great addition to the area. Also noted was the significance of the overall development and how it is imperative to get everything right. Most importantly, the developer’s interest in working towards a common vision was appropriately noted.
More information on this development will be released, as it becomes available.
