We have always recognized Tridel as a builder who has truly harnessed the power of social media. They use Twitter to update purchasers of construction progress, they blog about their technologies, and share their current projects online. So, it’s not shocking that when Tridel has a new project to launch, they simply tweet about it.

Recently, Tridel announced, via their twitter feed, that 101 Erskine is coming soon to Toronto. 101 Erskine, currently a parking lot, is located just north of Yonge and Eglinton. Details of 101 Erskine’s design are still unknown, however there was a proposal for the site from three years ago that called for a 35-storey tower comprised of roughly 400 suites. It makes a lot of sense for the area, given that the site’s surrounding buildings are also high-rises.

Over the past few years, Yonge and Eglinton has been a hot spot for developers.  Ever since the completion of Minto Midtown, we have seen builders start to help develop and intensify the area. The Mansion on Eglinton and The Berwick have started construction, while E Condos and 30 Roe are on their way. For those who are interested in the luxury that downtown living provides, but still want an intimate atmosphere and easily accessible transit, then the Yonge and Eglinton area is for you.

It will be interesting to see what designs Tridel have in store for 101 Erskine. Will we see a more contemporary design like at Aristo at Avonshire? Or a more challenging and sophisticated look like what Tridel is presenting at 10 York. Either way, we have no doubt that this building will be successful!
