A couple days ago, we headed up to Yonge and Sheppard to check out Tridel’s Hullmark Centre and Bazis’ Emerald Park.  What we didn’t tell you about that day is that we continued eastward on Sheppard Avenue to get a feel for the area, and to check out the street’s many projects, which are currently in the works.

EI8HTY8 Condos

EI8HTY8 Condos is a condominium development by Minto, which is great to see, because we often credit Minto for spurring the residential aspect of the Yonge and Eglinton area, and we have forecasted that Yonge and Sheppard will be the next northern hot spot.  So, the fact that Minto is up there (along with Tridel and Bazis) is a really good sign.

Located at 88 Sheppard Ave. East, EI8HTY8 Condos will rise 35 storeys, and be comprised of 375 units, which span in size from 375 to 1,485 square feet.

Monocle Condos

The next site that we happened upon was Monocle Condos by Monocle Developments Inc., at 180 Sheppard Ave. East.  Not much is known about the development at the moment.  We know that Teeple Architects designed the building, which is good news, and an optometrist office is currently on the site – so that’s probably the reason for the name of the condo.  Monocle Condos is still in the preconstruction phase, but we are interested in seeing what becomes of this desirable address.

Twenty One Clairtrell

After checking out Monocle, we cheated a bit and went north a few steps to see Twenty One Clairtrell by the Rockport Group.  First off, this great building is sold out, so you missed your chance with one!

Designed by Kirkor Architects & Planners, Twenty One Clairtrell will be a seven-storey boutique condo, which will be comprised of 128 units.  Construction looks like it is coming along smoothly, so it should be complete by early next year.

Jade Condos at Bayview and Sheppard

The last development that we checked out before we got back on the subway was Jade Condos at Bayview and Sheppard by Phantom Developments.  Jade is located directly adjacent to Twenty One Clairtrell, and will also rise seven storeys.

Jade Condos isn’t quite off the ground yet, but it will be soon.  By the time Jade is complete, it will consist of 153 units, with such features as floor-to-ceiling windows, spacious kitchens, and large balconies.  Oh, also, it’s only steps away from the Bayview and Sheppard subway line!

So, as you can see, there are many developments planned for Sheppard Ave. East, and we can’t wait to see them rise.  We’ll be keeping a close eye on all of these developments, especially the ones that haven’t broken ground yet!
