A-Rod Lists his Custom Miami Home

It hasn’t been a great year on the ball diamond for New York Yankee slugger Alex Rodriguez. Limited to just 94 games this year due to a broken hand, the Yankee third baseman has had a lot of downtime to reassess his real estate portfolio.

Well, Rodriguez has listed his 20,000-square-foot custom-built home. The price? A cool $38 million, and based on the fact that Rodriguez paid about $24 million to build the home over the past few years, he’s looking to make some extra pocket change off the transaction.

So, is it worth $38 million? Who knows? Value is in the eye of the purchaser; however, it does have some pretty cool features. The 10-bedroom home has 12-foot impact glass walls that sit on a 275-foot water frontage, for views of downtown Miami and the ocean . The home also features coral rock, white oak floors, and marble. We’re not sure if the purchasers will be baseball fans or not, but Rodriguez has built a modern state-of-the-art batting cage, which is kinda awesome.

The rest of the home seems pretty standard, as far as $30+ million homes go; top end features and finishes, immensely cool common areas, and of course, a private theatre.

Will Alex get his $38 million? Well, the high end Miami marketplace is booming right now, with properties in the area selling for upwards of $47 million. Given that he has made more than $296 million in his career, and has a salary of $29 million this season, we have a feeling that he can just wait for that right offer to come along.
