Last week, the team at the Toronto Star’s NewInHomes.com ventured out to the corner of Kennedy Road and Sheppard Avenue to witness the groundbreaking of Love Condominiums, the first Canadian building by our friends at Gemterra Development Corporation. Yan Wang and Maurice Lerman of Gemterra were joined by Mayor Rob Ford, Ward 40 Councillor Norm Kelly, MPP Soo Wong and Jim Karygiannis, member of parliament for Scarborough-Agincourt.

“Myself, (Mayor Rob Ford) and city council extend their warmest congratulations to Gemterra Development Corporation on the groundbreaking of Love Condominiums. Condominiums offer an alternative, unique lifestyle that is convenient, relaxing and appealing. The addition of Love Condominiums will provide residents with the convenience of condominium lifestyle and breathtaking views of the city,” Ford said. “We are proud of this addition to Toronto—one that will enrich and offer much enjoyment to the lives of residents in our community.”“A home is built on the foundation of love, and love is the start of every good home. I want to extend my heartfelt congratulations to Gemterra Development Corporation on the groundbreaking of Love Condominiums. Your commitment to building homes for individuals and families and helping them to be safe, and to creating memories in our Agincourt community, will be remembered for years to come,” Soo Wong said.
Gemterra Development Corporation is a new face on the Toronto condo-building scene, but one with more than a hundred buildings under their belt. The name Gemterra is one that is quite apt: it translates to “a gem from the ground,” and this is how it approaches all it projects. Not only do its people ensure their buildings will be of high quality, they are also truly passionate about what they do, which makes their first Canadian building, Love, perfectly named!
“If you ever travel in China, you’ll see that they (Gemterra) have 178 buildings. A number of years ago, I was visiting China, and had an opportunity to witness what they have done. If what they have done there is any reflection of what their two buildings will bring to Scarborough, I have no doubt you will be very proud,” Karygiannis said. ”I would like to offer my best wishes to Gemterra Development Corporation and everyone that is involved with the construction of Love Condominiums.”

Love is more than 50% sold, but some great options are still available for those interested.
